Tech Spec
The Aluminium used in these nameplates will be sulphuric anodised prior to printing. Our
printer will then use an anodic- dye ink which penetrates into the anodic film. To make the
print permanent the material is immersed in a nickel salt solution, rinsed & dried.

Tech Spec
Using a silk screen, ink will be squeezed through the stencil in the screen and then dried in
an oven allowing the ink to be bonded to the material and forming a permanent image.
Etched St/Steel Nameplates
Best for
• Aerospace & Marine environments
• Applications where a superior finish is required
• Use under ground
Available in
• 3 grades of st/steel 430 magnetic, 304 non magnetic & 316 marine grade st/steel
• 3 Surface finishes, dull (matt), dull polished (grained) & bright annealed (polished)
• Different fixing solutions depending on the environment

Tech Spec
After printing with acid resistant ink the unprotected areas of material are exposed to a
ferric – chloride etchant. This chemical attacks and eats away areas not covered by ink.
The resulting etched areas are then covered by an ink in the required colour, stoved and
the original ink removed leaving etched sunk characters and logos etc. on the st/steel
background.
The opposite effect, raised st/steel characters on a sunken etched background filled with
colour can also be supplied.
